Native Plants Better For Landscaping
Author: GreenThumbs
I love the landscaping in my hometown of Bellevue. Bellevue residential landscaping has often been admired by gardening magazines and lawn enthusiasts for it’s incorporation of plants and trees native to the Pacific Northwest. When non-native plants are used in neighborhood landscaping native plants suffer. This is because many non-native plants have the ability to smother and overgrow natural plant populations.
In Bellevue it is common to find Douglas-fir and Oregon White Oak trees planted alongside Western Serviceberry, Blue Elderberry, and Red Columbine berry plants. Since these trees and plants are all native to the region they pose no threat to other local plant species. Home owners can do their part to save their local environments by making sure their landscapers aren’t introducing any non-native plants.
