Excess Housing Inventory Could Disappear in 2010
Author: GreenThumbs
For quite some time, King County has had an excess of housing inventory despite construction of new homes remaining low. However, it seems that if new construction remains at its current rate of growth, the housing inventory will be back to a more balanced level by the summer of 2010. It’s common to think that all construction stopped after July 2008, but in truth, there are several Seattle real estate projects breaking ground all the time. Many of the new projects are compact townhomes, which builders seem to have discovered a niche for throughout the Seattle area and often feature luxurious accommodations, such as Seattle outdoor fireplaces.
If construction projects see significant growth, it could be more than eight years before the excess housing inventory on the market is absorbed. But regardless, because of the excess inventory available, now is a great time to browse new, old, and bank foreclosed homes in the Seattle area. There are some great deals to be found.
